About Pengelly and Rylands
Pengelly and Rylands was founded by Keith Rylands and the late Richard Pengelly in Tenterden High Street in 1975.
Three years later the firm opened a Matrimonial Department, which has been headed since 2002 by partner Rebecca Bell.
Trevor Chapman, our Notary Public, joined the firm in 1988 and since officially retiring as a solicitor in 2004 has continued to carry out his notarial duties from our offices.
In 1998, Richard Pengelly retired and was replaced by Rosalind Johnson, our partner specialising in wills, estate planning, probate and elderly client care.
The partners were joined in 2004 by Senior Commercial Solicitor Malcolm Bassett who heads the Company Law Department.
In October 2010 Laura Hails, who had been with the firm five years qualified as a Legal Executive and works in the Matrimonial Department.
In January 2011 Gill Snow who had been with the firm three years qualified as a Solicitor and works in the Residential Property and Elderly Client Care Departments.
In April 2011 Keith Rylands retired from the Firm and was replaced by Liz Connell who specialises in residential conveyancing. Rosalind Johnson became Senior Partner.
Throughout more than thirty years in Tenterden our firm has prided itself on its level of service to its clients. We provide a caring, professional service using our solicitors' and staff's wealth of experience and local knowledge.
